Doctors get buckets.
This is a true statement. Want proof? I got it!
As I write this in 2024, it is officially the 13 year anniversary of one of the sickest basketball mix tapes ever dropped.
(Incredibly this also reminds me that it has been >10 years since I graduated medical school, which is…scary.)
Basically, a bunch of us used to play pick up basketball every week throughout medical school. The games got pretty intense and were really competitive. It was a great way to let off steam and de-stress from everything going on in medical school.
So, for the medical school talent show one year, 5 of us decided to make a trick shot video and below you can see the result with your own eyes…
Anyway, I have absolutely no idea what recently reminded me of making this. But thankfully, I was still able to find it on Youtube and thought it would be great to share it here.
This mix tape features myself and 4 other medical students at the University of Rochester dropping some dimes and hitting nothing but net.
We really loved making it and hope you enjoy it as well.
For reference, this is a “where are they now” of my med school teammates:
- Me – Well, you know me!
- Imran Uraizee MD is a pathologist in Chicago
- Thilan Wijesekera MD MHS is an internal medicine doc at Yale in New Haven
- Daniel Schatz MD is Director of Program and Policy in the Office of Behavioral Health at NYC Health + Hospitals
- Clifford Pierre is a neurosurgeon in Seattle
Pretty impressive group if you exclude me!
Anyway, here is the video as promised. And don’t forget, doctors get buckets too!
What do you think? Do you know any doctors that get buckets? How did you keep yourself sane in medical school? Let me know in the comments below!
damn…yall missed your true calling to be part of the Globetrotters. my kiddo loved it too.
Maybe one day! We can dream…
